Hey Faith 8_88, have you heard anything yet ?

No I have not heard anything yet but hopefully I hear from them real soon. But I'll keep you updated

I have also applied for the Fall 2009 semester. I hope I get in :)

I hope I get in too next semester. Did you do your prereq's @ FAMU or somewhere else?

I did the majority of my prereqs at a CC in Daytona Beach and obtained an A.A. with one or two courses taken @ FSU and TCC. FAMU's application was pretty intense. I had a hard time getting the three letters of recommendation they require because the majority of the classes I took were 300 miles away. Plus I hadn't come across a nursing program application that required students to submit a picture.

I work at one of the local hospitals so I hope that plays some kind of role in the application, but I don't expect it to :D.

Do you have your A.A. or did you take most of the prereq courses at FAMU?

No! I did not take any courses in Tallahassee but I took courses @ BCC in south florida, which is where I received my A.A. degree. And I think that was crazy too about the recommedations b/c a lot of my professor had retired or I wasn't that close to them, and I changed schools

Hey Everyone! I just spoke with the Nursing advisor of FAMU and she just informed me that since I got into the university that am taking a chance with my enrollment, w/ housing and fees, because they are not going to start sending out acceptance letters until 2 WEEKS BEFORE THE PROGRAM STARTS. So she said if you are confident that you are going to get in then find houseing and pay those school fees but if you DO NOT get into their nursing program apply for spring semester of '10. WOW! Basically, if I get in and I did not find housing im in bad shape but if I do have everything together and don't get in im in bad shape. What should I do? becasue I don't even know FAMU's cut off for there GPA requirements.

Apply to as many schools as possible and do as much research as possible ahead of time. FAMU requires a lot of stuff for their application so it's good to get a nice head start.

well I think you should not make any major move with housing because if you do get in for August then in those two weeks before school start you just start moving like crazy to find a house ASAP maybe find someone looking for a roomate and live there temporarly then move once ur settled in.

FAMU is not the only school on my list b/c I have applied to two others schools, such as, Broward College and University of Central Florida. So im going to wait, and whatever happens, happens and probably for the best because im not going to stress b/c i know I WILL get into a nursing school somewhere and thats the main thing at this point.
