Florida nursing question

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Hello, I am planning a move to Florida in a couple years and I have two questions for any southwest Florida nurses out there.

1. I am planning to move somewhere in between Fort Myers and the Keys along the Gulf Coast. That is the only area I wish to move to. I am hoping to obtain some info from people who live in that area. I am not interested in working hospice, home-care, long term care, or for any hospital. (I know, I'm moving to the wrong area right!) I would consider dialysis or insurance...but I have no experience in these areas. I prefer Occupational Health for a plant/manufacturer or I am also interested in nurse informatics. I pretty much enjoy all the extremely abstract nursing jobs. I would much prefer to work for a company who makes prosthetic limbs then I would a hospital or surgery center. So without living in the area I'm not sure what sort of odd nursing jobs are available since many of those type of occupational related jobs only post locally and they usually only hire a few nurses in total. Does anybody have any ideas of businesses in the area that hire RN's in that type of capacity?

2. Where does a single income nurse live around this area? I'm only interested in living in an HOA. Any recommendations?

Thanks!
