Florida Keys travel assignments/agencies

Key Largo and Marathon are both in the keys and have travel assignments frequently. PPRHealthcare and Access Nurses (which I believe is now AYA travel nurse), both have assignments there. I usually see ICU/OR positions available. Right now in Florida it is "low season" so there are not as many jobs. High season begins after hurricane season is over November 1st. That is the time you will see a lot more positions become available due to the snow birds coming to FL.

Hello. I am an ICU nurse with three years experiece currently with florida license. I am obsessed with the idea of finding a travel assignment in the florida keys but am not seeing any florida keys assignments out there when I am searching the internet or travel agency websites. Can anyone that has recently retained any assignments there give me some insight on availability, agencies and hospitals that use travel nurses. Thank you so much in advance!

I just relocated from central Florida to the Florida Keys and got a job. They never paid me my travel pay, hired me for critical care and worked my on med-surg with 6-7 patients. Hospital smelled like mold. Good place for a retiring nurse that doesn't care about their patients. Most nurses are on 'island time' and I wasn't. So much for the perfect job in Key West. Lower Keys does not utilize travel nurses except for OR. Sorry.

Hi! I live in Key Largo and volunteer at mariner's hospital (soon to be nursing student). Many of us who live in key largo commute to south miami for work. You could always look for travel nurse jobs in homestead or south miami and set up your own housing in the upper keys! I know a few nurses down here who do that...
