Florida Gulf Coast University?

Anybody have any experience with this program recently? How hard is it to get into and how good a program is it? Any insight will be appreciated!

I'm trying to get in currently very nervous! :/

If I don't get in here, this will be my fourth denied letter.

What kind of TEAS score do you need to get in? What kind of grades do you have? I am worried of getting denied too! I will be applying for the Falls 2012 I think. Still need to take that test though!

Emcadams,

I applied to FGCU's nursing program for the Fall 2011's term and got in. But i declined my seat due to certain circumstances. But to me, it seemed pretty easy to get in; that's just my opinion and I don't really know how it is now. Although, I doubt much has changed.

My teas score back than was a 71.3 (I think--I ended up taking it again though) and gpa was like 3.98 or something... Nevertheless, it was 3.9 something. I only had 3 B's or so. As far as the teas score goes, I suggest you aim high and try to use the recommended study guide. It's pretty much just like the actual test, plus if you order the one from the ati website, that one has 2 practice exams in the back of the book plus an additional two that you take online (just like the actual test). For the ones you take online, they give you a feedback report where it tells you what you need to focus on and such.

Good luck! :lol2: :yeah::lol2:

Thanks for the reply! I did end up ordering the materials from the ATI site. I got a 83% on my first practice...of course worst section was science. My GPA will be a 3.4 overall. 4.0 in all my prereqs. I have a previous bachelor's in English that I did not do that well in, as I worked the whole time I was in school and had some other things going on...graduated with a 3.2. I guess I will just apply and see what happens...I will have to add something to my app though bc I have not taken microbiology or psychology yet...signed up to take those in the Spring. I guess my best bet is to probably do well on the TEAS. I live in Fort Myers, so this is the closest public BSN program to me. It would be nice to apply to many other schools, but I do not have the means to support myself in a move.

That's cool. Trust me, FGCU is a really good school. I used to be up there all the time but something happened with my living arrangements sooooo I declined in hopes of getting into mdc. But I didn't get in on the first attempt, but second time around is a charm right? lol. But your practice teas score is awesome, smh mine were horrible (the online ones that is). The ones from the back of the book were in the high 70s and 80s. Don't know what happened when I actually took the test though lol.

But keep me posted. I'd loved to know how everything goes for you :rolleyes:

Just submitted my FGCU app for Fall 2012! I got a 94 on my TEAS. I used the ATI stuff just like you suggested, so thanks! I guess there is a pretty long wait to hear about it, though, but I am crossing my fingers!

just found out i got in for fall 2012! anyone else here find anything out?! :bugeyes:
