Flawed test?

Hey all,

has any non had a flawed test result come back from a uds? Or know what that means?

I had a flawed test about a month ago but was for a hair test. I go through First Source Solutions so I called them ask what a flawed test meant. I was told there was an "error" in the specimen collection process, resulting it being "flawed". They were also able to tell me the person who cut my hair didn't cut it close enough to my scalp, so the lab couldn't tell which end of the sample was from my head, so to speak. It was the collection site's error and didn't have anything to do with me. I also let my monitor know and he cancelled test so I didn't have to pay for it ($300!!!!). He also informed me I would have to submit another sample, which I did. I was selected the next week for another hair test.

I've been in this program for almost 5 years (less than 50 days to go) and that's the only flawed I've had....not sure about other's experiences.

Try calling the lab...maybe they'll tell you what happened. I know it's scary, but try not to get too stressed out. This too will pass...just like everything else in this program.

Wow that’s crazy!! Those damn hair tests!!! I’ve had three in 8 months! They add up

I ended up getting through to the lab, the person who administered the test didn’t sign the paperwork, so the chain of command was broken. First source did say it wasn’t my fault but followed with the board of nursing could see it that was because ultimately it’s our responsibility! I’m expecting another test soon!

I have a flawed hair test result as well, waiting for fss to contact me or the monitor. Im pretty sure the girl doing the cutting was super nervous and hated cutting my hair. Concentras policy is to cut the hair and put the whole length in the foil, no trimming to 1.5 inches like I have read elsewhere. I think that's what happened.

This is two weeks after a PETH test (no alcohol restrictions- was able to get cancelled.)

Im waiting to see how this is my fault and how much money it will cost me. So far its been many days and tears. I have 2.5 months left and am just devastated at the loss of my privacy, confidence, and love of nursing.
