Hey there,
I am a RN in Fla. I have lived her most of my life and I am sooooooooooooo tired of it here. I have visited Dallas twice and know in my heart that is where I am meant to be. I LOVE DALLAS!!!! I love Plano and the North Dallas area...okay my dilemma is I am working from home and the pay I receive is the lowest I ever was paid in my 8 yrs of nursing. I was in a gym related injury thats why i am working from home.
I wasn't working for months--so getting paid while recovering is better than not. But I hate it here in Fla. I honestly do. I cry when i see images of Dallas on Tv...I am not even into sports but when I hear talk of Dallas Cowboys I just want to stand up and cheer....
I have applied for my Texas license. I currently have my Temporary Texas license. Waiting for another state to clear me with Texas even though I never used my license in that state.
I haven't applied to any jobs in Texas because I have been at this new job from home for a couple of months. This new job is nice. Idea for a housewife or someone with kids. I don't have kids. And your license isn't on the line although you do use some of your skills..not much. But is allocated to RNs only.
They give me a laptop, I work when i want as long my work is completed. And the manager is great. The pay is not what I am used to but as I said before I get up at 8,or 9,or 10 am and start whenever until I complete my task, Usually takes me 6-7 hrs. I like starting whenever I want.
But i don't want to stay here in Fla anymore. I am Thankful I have a job given the job market.
But I am unhappy in Florida. Socially its the pits!!! So depressing.....But I dont think its wise to get up and relocate without a prospective lead. I don't intend on returning to ICU as my primary income. Even though the pay was very lucrative. I want to use that as agency to not lose my skills, but even in my city I keep getting cancelled.
Fellow Texans any advice?? Thanks... Also there are so many different hospitas in the DFW area...Not sure where to begin...
