Hello, I am currently at fau taking pre req classes. right now i have a 3.0 gpa, but i still have 2 more semesters worth of classes before i apply... so ill have like a 3.2?? i have done about 48 hours of volunteer work, and i read all the older forums on here all the time about getting into nursing and it makes me not hopeful.. I am going to apply to UWF, UNF for their summer, and if i dont get in, Ill be applying to them again for fall as well as fgcu, ucf, fiu, and maybe keiser or nova. my pre req gpa might be a little higher tho, I am curious of any stories of people with not A+ gpas that still got in?? how long did it take you. im considering just doing asn if my chances are only a 15% of getting in. oh also if i did really well on teas could that boost me? I have the book now. maybe my teas store, experience, and a great interview will help. ive had a few jobs so im good at interviews.

oh also do things like not being from the area and being a certain race and stuff like that help u out or is it all just gpa. thanks!

ok im guessing i have like no chance haha bc 145 chose not to comment... i think what imma do is apply to all those schools plus ucfs coco beach campus and then ill do a couple community colleges and betweek all those school 1 out of like 9 should like me. if not ill keep applying till i do.

Im applying for MDC (my first choice so I pray I get in) and BCC, my back up is NOVA since they offer the BSN but they are so expensive. I would have to work as a nurse for a few years just to pay off the loans if I go there. I wouldn't recommend any for profit schools, as they tend to be exactly what the name suggest and only want your money. I have heard alot of horror stories and people saying to run because you never know for how long they will be accredited. There are pros and cons to every program. For MDC 60% on whether or not you get in is from the HESI so if you can get in the 90th percentile you have a great chance. GOOD LUCK :)

I would look into the community colleges for their ADN programs if you already have the pre's done. Most of them have a direct connect to UCF for the BSN bridge. If you keep your gpa above 3, then you can apply to UCF for your your BSN after you graduate for you ADN. The difference, some hospitals require ONLY BSN and they will consider you if you are enrolled into a BSN program. The difference? Cost. Community colleges are cheaper. Some even offer BSN. Valencia in Orlando will be offering BSN in the fall of 2018.

Good advice. It is getting harder these days because hospitals prefer BSN and alot of them are saying BSN required on the job application. Getting the ADN is so much cheaper though. After I get the RN i will go to the university for the BSN.
