Fl licensing with record can I be licensed?

Published

Hello everyone I am in the process of applying to nursing programs and I recently was driving with a friend and we got pulled by the police and needless to say there was some stuff in the car I was unaware of. We both got a misdomeanor. One of the was possesion of marijuana and the second was drug parohanila. I am now going through a diversion program which will be completed next month and the charges will be dropped and I was never convicted I will not be charged with the 2 misdemeanors they will be dropped. Just showing that I was arrested but not charged. Back in 2011 I was convicted of a battery charge which I had my lawyer seal that so it is no longer on my record. Is nursing something that I should give up. I'm a semester away from getting my LPN and have finished all prequisties for Nursing. Any one who knows Anything I would appreciate your help. Thanks.

Try contacting the BoN about this. Battery & drug possession are usually big no-no's as far as the BoN is concerned...

I'm writing from experience, back in

2008 I was arrested, finger printed and booked at the local county jail(Palm beach county,Florida) on a third degree felony charge(worst experience of my life). Six months later the charge was dropped and I went on with my life, becoming a nurse. Florida Board of Nursing will allow you to become a licensed nurse as long as you have NOT been CONVICTED of a crime. I am now licensed in FL,NY,NJ&CT. Always be honest and disclose your arrest and the disposition of your case, even if the question only ask you if you were convicted of a crime.......
