FL Hospital new grad program February start

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Just wanting to get a little insight, I had one interview last week for FL Hospital- Tampa. I really enjoyed the interview event and I would love to work there, should hear back soon.

I also have 3 more interviews this week for FL hospital Orlando locations.

So first question, I graduated with my ADN and I'm wondering, is there anyone out there who is currently in the new grad nurse program at FL Hospital and has their ADN? I'm of course planning to enroll in an RN-BSN program after I start working, and I made that apparent in my interview. I just know it is competitive and I tried to stand out with my personality and work experience, and want to know if I have a chance.

Second question, If I do get the Tampa position, I will be relocating from Jacksonville. Is there any suggestions for a one bedroom apartment near the FL Hospital Tampa location that is NOT student housing and is relatively nice and in a good/safe area?

Thanks :)

Hello! I got hired for FH East Orlando to begin February. I have my ADN as well, so it is definitely possible to be hired without your BSN. Just wanted to wish you the best of luck, hope you get the position you want :)

Hi! I also have my ADN and was hired for the February start date at Florida Hospital East Orlando. I think you did all of the right things to stand out. I also informed the nurse manager that I was planning on starting my BSN soon. Best of luck to you!

Looks like we will be starting together! What unit will you be on if you don't mind me asking?

How exciting! Med surge/tele, how about you? Did you relocate to Orlando or you've already lived here?

I have Med/Tele as well! I live on the coast near Cocoa so I will have about a 45 min commute. Did you relocate?

I just sent you a private message :)

Hi! I work at Tampa General (starting Monday), but I wanted to say that FL Hosp Tampa is near the college so I would be careful which apartments you chose if you didn't want to be in party central! Carrollwood, Twelve Oaks, & Town and Country are more like suburbs, west of the hospital. I was just on zillow and craigslist last night looking at apartments for a friend who was just hired at FL Hosp Tampa. There are a lot of great options that are affordable. Congrats on your offers :)

OP, FH will take you. The FHO (Orlando) new grad program starts on 2/22/16. I just graduated with an ADN & received multiple offers from them. You've GOT this!!

This is a late reply, but I wanted to say thank you to everyone for your input and suggestions, I accepted a position at FL Hospital Tampa and will start the 22nd!! Also found a great option in Tampa Palms. Congratulations to everyone, I will you all the best! :)
