First Year of Nursing School

Published

Hello,

My name is Erin, and I will be attending Florissant Valley Community College Nursing Program in Aug. 2011. I have to say that I am very nervous. I know I will do well, however, the student nurses made it seem as if I will have no life. I hear so many different things from different people. I have no idea what to expect. I believe I have a slight advantage due to the fact that I am single with no children, or spouse. I also stay at home with my parents.

For anyone has completed their first year of nursing school, please tell me what to expect. How did you manage stress, and your personal life?

Thanks!

I heard the same thing when I was a nursing student. I showed up to nursing school scared. Although it was overwhelming at first, once I fell into a routine of keeping up with my reading, studying, clinical, etc, I felt better. Many say "you will have no life" in nursing school, and for some it's true. I lived a very full life outside of class once I found out how to study.

i am starting this fall as well we should keep in touch and maybe start preparing let me know !!! see you then

Hey Mrs Roberts. Are you enjoying the program? We should exchange numbers soon!!
