My NCLEX Disaster

Nurses New Nurse

Published

I don't know if I should scream, throw-up, start drinking heavily, or give up and go to dog-grooming school instead of being a nurse. I was a solid B-student in nursing school. Reviewed for 6 weeks with Kaplan, Saunders, Mosby's, etc. Did extremely well on all "the tests" and now I am wondering why I even reviewed, because NO amount of preparation could have prepared me for the questions I had. I actually had a question about what to teach a guy with sickle cell who had a 3-hour erection! :smokin: How about throwing away the VIAGRA?? :D. But of course that wasn't an option :chuckle

The computer shut-off at 75 so I suppose it figured I was just to freakin' incompetent to go on any further :uhoh3: Now the wait begins.

Hey People!

I passed the NCLEX! I called my state BON about 1 hour ago and was informed that my RN license was issued TODAY!

Hooraay!!! I am so glad for you! :balloons: What a relief! Jen

Sweet Heart:

Your a BLESSING NOT A TRAGEDY. That erection question still puzzles me?

CONGRATULATIONS

ON

PASSING NCLEX

:balloons:

Well, apparently not only is it prolonged but very painful - so not a good thing for a man with sickle cell anemia. Thank you everyone for all of your kind thoughts and wishes. I am so grateful that I live in a state where I don't have to wait for weeks to get my results. During the 24 hours that I was waiting, my husband told all of our friends and family that he had me on "suicide watch" :chuckle

I don't know where they came up with that question but I had it today too. I chose 'I will seek prompt medical care since impotence may result' or something to that effect.
