Advice on relocating

I graduated in Aug 2007 and I have been working in the MICU since Oct 2007. I love my job and I love my unit, but I moved from WV to NC and I am really miserable when I'm not working. My husband and I are completely alone down here. We want to move back home to where our family and friends are. If I could move my loved ones here or if I could move my job there I would be happy as a clam. However, since I cant, my husband and I have decided to move back to our home state once our lease is up at the end of the year. I really dont want anyone on my unit to know I am planning on leaving, but there are a lot of questions I need answered. I took a relocation grant when we moved and I have to figure out how much I need to pay back or how long I would have had to work to not have to pay back any. Since I will have at least another 6 months here, I havent told anyone about my plans. How do I go about relocating? Who, if anyone, should I tell and when should I tell them? How do I leave on a positive note (I really LOVE where I work and I want everyone to know I really enjoyed being there). Any help or advice would be great!

Most places require a 30 day notice. I would not mention the relocation grant at all. You can figure the repayment out in your head. If they mention that, then you sort it out.
