First Time Taking the NET

Published

Well, I just got back from taking the NET at my school. It was an experience. It was given on the computer and we recieved our scores after the test. Here are mine:

Math 93

Reading Comprehension 76

Composition score 85

Well my school does not look at the math score for admittance, only the reading comprehension. I guess I will figure out how to make my reading comprehension better over the break and retake it in Janurary. The entrance scores of last falls nursing class was 55%-88%. I know I hit the range, but I want to make sure.

]Good job :] I took mine on paper & I also got a 93 in math and a 70 in reading for an 82 composite.

My school looks at all 3 results and a 65 is required on all three parts and they told me that mine was really good and that my reading score was really good because a lot of people aren't passing the reading comp part. So Idk if that's that way for your school, but great job regardless =)

Dan that is a great score, what is your pre-reqs GPA? and what are your grades on your science courses?

which school are you going to?

Well our school takes only the reading score into the equation for entrance. The last fall class the reading range was 55 to 88. This year they are making it where you have to have at lesat a 60 in reading comprehension. I tested well above the school average, but I am wanting to make sure I get in, so I will practice and retake te test.

I am lucky that there are only 4 pre-reqs for entrance and I am taking them this spring. I am currently not working so I will spend all my time studing and try to get a 4.0.

Computer Course

I am attending Pasco-Hernando Community College.

I have my english and algebra from when I attended college 16 years ago that are transferring in, along with some EMT courses from when I went to Paramedic school 20+ years ago.

My advisor and I have decided that if I can get a 4.0 in my pre-reqs and I can get above an 85 on the reading comprehension, I should have no problem gaining entrance to the nursing program, plus I have county resident on my side.

Thank you both for your kind words on my scores. I was a little disappointed with them, but they are okay I guess.

Dan, to be realistic if you do what your advisor said you will be the 1st accept!

i am pretty sure that with 3.5 GPA and 70 on reading you get in!...

I know a girl by the name of Tabatha, who is atending PCCC and she was accepted on 3.3GPA reading 58, and she was not the lest one.

Of course the the higher you score, the better it is, but let me ease up your mind a little :D!!!

more then half of the people who test the reading on the net score under 70 and only a few will score over 75 (veeeeery few)

I retook the net, but as it was said before, i scored the same thing!!! 3 times!

so... i would invest my time into reading and getting a great score on your sciences!

The best of Luck

John Santos!
