Hi everyone,
I'm wondering if you have ever thought after your first clinical rotation about your strength/weak area.
My was so demanding and challenging,I had to give bath to dementia pt,and my clinical instructor told me that I took too much time, and I made pt tired:cry:.

Hang in there!! Nobody ever feels confident or competent on their first clinical day! I was so nervous for my first clinical that I couldn't eat for about a day and a half before! Just remember that you are there to learn. I had a lot of nursing instructors that forgot that! And as a brand new nursing student on your first day of clinical, what else are you really supposed to do - assist with a heart cath? And as for the patient getting too tired - elderly patients tend to tire easily.
Just try to familiarize yourself with the unit and figure out who the nurses are that you can actually learn from.
