Hi everybody, I am a first semester nursing student. I started last month and I have my first round of exams coming up next week. I have FOUR MID TERMS IN THE SAME WEEK!! One of my professors is notorious for giving very very difficult exams and I am so scared of failing. I've been doing all the NCLEX practice test at the end of my chapters, and I just don't get it. I find the questions to be very challenging, and I'm starting to doubt myself. I'm struggling. I also wanted to find out from you guys how much you study everyday? I feel so overwhelmed with work to do that I've literally been studying every day like six hours a day because THERE IS SO MUCH STUFF TO DO!!!! Today I tried to do more practice questions and my brain told me no so I actually stopped. What should I do? HELP!! How should I study? How can I learn this whole CRITICAL THINKING THING?!?!? How can I take a day off without getting behind? Thanks guys!

Let me start with the fact I have a 4.0 and I am in my final year of my BSN.
Then let me say this: calm down. Take a deep breath. Go for a jog around the lake. Clear your head. You were smart enough to get into nursing school. An awful lot of normal people just like you graduate with honors every year.
The people who hyperventilate and fall to pieces over every test in nursing school flunk out. Of my original cohort, most who are gone now failed because they didn't show up for class, didn't study, missed exams, fiddled with their phones in class, refused to follow institutional policy during clinicals, or got in fights with the professors. Of those who quietly keep showing up and keeping their nose to the grindstone, none have failed. When you give it everything you've got, schools and professors have a habit of meeting you halfway.
