Very new to the site. Just found out I was selected as the first alternate for the navy ncp. Very disappointed. Anybody ever been in this situation and still made it? What are the chances of someone declining or new spots being added?

1st alternate - that sounds good. I would cont' BSN program, keep in contact with recruiter and at 1 year from graduation also apply to direct commission. I'd feel much more comfortable if I was a junior and was a first alternate... will you transition in automatically... what happens next year if you are still alternate? Do you have to re-apply or ?
Best of luck,
It has no bearing on direct accsession. That's even more competitive and I have no experience. I am still planning on trying that route if things don't work out.
