Ok so i live in oklahoma but am from massachusetts, my children were in mass visiting my parents for a month. I mad all of the arrangements to go get them the weekend of halloween. Informed my don, covered the shifts and all that. So i went and got them. Then i showed up the following weekend and i wasnt on the schedule. So i called the manager and asked why and she told me that i was a ncns and my job was terminated. They couldnt even have the respect to have me come in and talk to me or call me or anything they just let me show up at 5 in the morning. What did i do wrong>?? Oh and did i mention the don will not see me to talk about what happened. She wont return my calls and refuses to see me when i go in there.

I agree 100%. I'm sorry that you came back from your trip to find out that you were fired! I would like to know the "real" reason why I was fired though. How can you do that though if the DON isn't speaking to you? Maybe shoot her a voice message or email and ask her what exactly you did do or what you could have improved on? She would probably just ignore the messages though. I do believe you AT LEAST DESERVE an explanation! That's a tough situation and wish you the best on finding a new job.

YES! at least a good explanation on there part will ease the anger and pain..

Ok, so i am the one who posted this origionally, so as per everyones advice, i talked to the administrator of the facility, no luck she wouldnt tell me anything either. just kept saying to talk to the DON. i left several messages for the DON and the staffing coordinator, no luck. i applied to get unemployment, and was denied, i attempted to appeal and they wanted proof of some sort and i couldnt get any, not even the people that covered the shifts would write statement saying they were asked several days prior to cover the shift. well anyway i dropped the situation. im past it now, i honestly do not feel like dealing with them. i definatly wouldnt want to work there again so it would basically be a mute point anyway. well anyway thank you all for your advice.

These are nasty people. Nasty people can be found in lots of workplaces. Be happy that you are away from them. Something way worse than being fired could have happened to you. Hope you are in a better situation now.
