While 2 years experience might be what travel agencies require now, 15 months experience would not disqualify you at either my current or previous facility.
In my opinion, it is most likely your termination that is the problem. If the issue was with documentation only, and these issues have been corrected, have you contacted human resources to discuss having the conditions of your termination updated in your personnel file?
I worked with a woman who discharged a patient and another patient's papers were mixed in on the printer, a common occurence, and a family member who imagined themself as some kind if HIPPA expert complained and she was fired. I said something to my manager about how I couldn't belive it and he said "Floyd, you know us better than that." They wanted to be rid of her as she was prone to spark dissensions that were unwanted but not fireable events.
as your resume might not be the best now.. you may have to spread the search radius to other smaller community hospitals where the experience needed is just one year. after you get that second year you can move up to higher acuity floors and then to better hospitals the year after!
management loves documentation! travelers have to deal way less with getting hunted down for it but doesnt make you any less liable

So I was fired from my first nursing job. They say it was because I had drug discrepancies (no miscounts, just documenting issues that I resolved). I have currently taken a home health position and I hate it. I am ALWAYS working, charting or being called to take emergency cases. I've been looking for another hospital/travel position but it seems everyone wants 2 years bedside while I only have about 15 months and now 1 month home health position. Any advice to get back in a hospital?
