Fired..Confused..Upset

I will attempt to make this short and sweet. I got a PRN job close to home, in addition to my full time position that was a good drive. My full time job I had been at for a year and half. The PRN position was not very often. After being PRN for a couple of months, the DoN calls and asks if I would be interested in full time nights. I declined. Two weeks later, she calls back and asks again. I took the opportunity to be closer to home and family. Well now, less than 2 months later, I'm fired. I have never ever been fired. She calls me in, says the other night nurses I work with have "concerns" and that I transcribed an order to the physician orders but not to the MAR. I told her that I didn't put that order on the MAR because it was a duplicate, and it needed clarification, which I informed the day nurse who did rounds with the doctor that came in that day. Apparently, she never got clarification. I was never made aware of any concerns, hell I thought we all got along well. That was that, and I was terminated. No warning, no nothing. I left in complete and utter shock. Does any of this sound right?

It sounds as if u were thrown under the bus .. Did i document that u told the other nurse abt the MAR needing clarification .. If so , u have proof she shld she shd he held accountable .. If your info was passed of to her, and it was in yr documentation , I wld for sure fight that..

I was fired once when I failed to quit- the DON made a new boyfriend, who was also an LPN (and wanted my job), and made all type of excuse that I was incompetent. I took my glowing evaluations, etc. to unemployment, to get an official determination that I was fired without cause- but that determination and $1.50 will get you a cup of coffee. Clear your mind, and move on. It's the new lay of the land: disposable employees. Even if you love your current job? It never hurts to read the want ads every Sunday. I'm just sayin'.
