  1. I agree with bed side nursing is so stressful. I went from the OR TO BEDSIDE nursing , back to the OR. Every thing you mentioned is the reason why I left. . It can be stressing on any relationship. I was always anxious and such a crab when I would get home. I have been in the OR for 13 years and wanted something different. " don't ask why" Lol. Anyway good for you for being true to yourself. You will find what works for you. Hang in there
  2. "HELP" by the Beatles
  3. I am a new new nurse as well.. I have been a surge tech for 10 years, left the OR to purse floor nursing exp. only lasted 6 months, now I'm back to the OR..
  4. In my opinion , cheaper doesn't always mean better or most comfortable . When you have a chance to save up , invest in crocks or dansko, they are expensive , but my dansko last abt 2 yrs.. Just a little FYI ..
  5. I have been a scrub tech for many years. Went back to school to receive my LPN , worked on med surg floor for 6 months , hateed it , now I'm back in the OR where I belong... Anyone new to the OR, take it one case at a time , one day at a time and give your self time to learn,.
  6. I'm a LPN who worked on a med surg floor for less than a year.. Hated it, and I have no shame about it. I have been a surg tech for many years before that, and now I'm back in the OR, and yes as a surg tech , but I'm happy. I do plan on applying for LPN to RN bridge program soon. I would eventually like to get my RNFA. Don't worry about experience in the OR, ,ig it's a good OR with a good educator, they will precept you thru each speciality
  7. Absolutely !!!! My friend you are not alone.. Working in a LTC facility is very hard, you either have the knack or you don't.. Speaking for myself I only lasted 4 months.. I'm not ashamed to say it wasn't for me..
  8. I am a LPN who use to wrk med surg floor. I would receive 5-6 patients..
  9. Your all correct. I am a LPN who fulfills the surg tech role, which is what I love Like I said before , tried floor nursing and it's not for me. I will eventually enroll in a LPN RN bridge program and when I do receive my RN I will continue my nursing in the OR
  10. I'm a LPN who works in the OR. I have worked on the med surg floor as a LPN for on year, hated it. Now I'm back in the OR where I belong.. I worked as a surg tech for many years , the. Went back to school for my LPN.. I love nursing but not as floor nurse. Surg tech make more money then LPN in a hosp anyway. It's a great experience , I love working in the OR and have no regrets with my decision.. It's a great skill,. Go for it and apply, take it one step at a time
  11. I'm an LPN, who has workes on the med surg floor, but I was also a surg tech for many years . Wanted to try floor nursing. I hate it . Going back to the OR NEXT WEEK. I feel it's where I want to be
  12. I am a new nurse but I also have been working in the OR , before I was a nurse. I've been a floor nurse for 6 months .. Hate it! Going back to the OR, next week. . Floor nursing is not my mojo
  13. I have been working in the OR as a surg tech for 12 years finally went back to get my nursing degree.. Left the OR to get my experience as a floor nurse.. "Hate it" now I'm going back to the OR .. For sure that is where I belong
  14. I live in MI AS WELL, and I'm am aLPN.. I entered the LPN program through Davenport .. I have no regrets . I work for a local hospital, on the med surg floor.. Yes they make more, but I was always thought do what u love , money will come. I make good wages and good benefits .
  15. I think it's funny, that we are dealing with people's life, and yet too many questions are frowned upon.. Shame.. .. Medical residents are w courted to ask, confirm with others as well as do thief research, but nurses are not suppose to ask questions , excuse me " too many".. I have been working on the OR for 10 years, our philosophy is" see one, do over, teach one". We as nurses need to advocate , encourage and champion one another, not frown upon one of our own who is new and struggling to find thief nitch..
