hi everyone! I am currently a nursing student in an accelerated second degree bsn program and I have been selected as a nurse corps scholarship recipient. although nervous about my job opportunities post graduation, I accepted the scholarship since it would decrease my financial burden significantly. I am writing this post in the hopes of hearing back from previous nurse corps recipients. some questions I have are how easy was it to find a job? how long did you look for a job? and did you have to move a significant distance away from where you were to get a job? any help would be much appreciated. thank you!

Go to the hrsa website and you can do a state by state search of eligible workplaces. Start hitting the pavement before graduation. The places with the highest hpsa scores are the ones with the biggest need and cater to the most needy. Some of those sites would welcome you as a student for your capstone projects and such...might help you get your foot in the door. I did not apply for the hrsa grant, but I have worked for a community health center with high hpsa scores for about 14 years off and on.
