Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Ok, so this past spring semester was the last time I'll receive tuition reimbursement because of some changes they made at my company. Because of those changes I opted out of the tuition program so I wouldn't have to pay anything back (if I continued, I'd have to pay the past 3 years back if I didn't stay for 3 years at my company after I graduate - not gonna happen because I want to work in a hospital).
So, a couple months back, I filled out the financial aid paperworks. I did not get approved as I am only taking a 3 credit hour course this Fall (only taking it so I stay in student status while I wait to get accepted to the Nursing Program because I am done with all of my pre-req's).
So, now I am confused. If I get accepted to the Nursing Program for January, will I have to fill out financial aid paperwork again? Or do they re-evaluate me automatically for every semester?
Just not sure how all of this works since I've never had to deal with it before now!! I'm not sure I would get it anyway, but I would like to at least try!
Sorry if it's a silly question, but TIA!!!!

Find out when the acceptance letters are sent out. Hopefully they are sent out two or three months before Jan. classes start, as that will give you time to talk to the financial aid people at the school to let them know that you will be needing aid for spring. As long as you have filled out the FAFSA forms, I would think that you would be ok. You might even talk to financial aid now and tell them your situation. Financial aid runs from fall to spring. So, when Jan. comes , you will need to fill out your FAFSA renewal form to get ready for NEXT fall / spring . The sooner you fill it out, the more likley you are to get additional aid such as grants and scholarships that your state provides because there is a limited amount of those awards. Hope this helps.

Ok, I was pretty sure that was how it worked - running Fall to Spring. Thanks for the info. From what I understand, I should get a letter (either way) in October maybe? So, that should give me time. But I'll talk to the Financial Aid people prior to then as well just to give them a heads up of the possibility. Thanks so much for your help!

My financial aid works the same as the posters above. I always go online and fill out my fafsa Jan 2. I have found if you go it right away you are often able to get additional monies that are on a first come first serve basis.
