Financial aid available in FL

Hey, I'm looking for suggestions on how to get a nursing loan. I didn't receive much money to cover my tuitions, and I was wondering if I should get a loan. The interest is high and I feel like give up cause my parents have to sign it for me and I have to wait til they approve it. Does anyone know about this program that pays for your tuition, and you have at least to work for them for two years?

Sounds like your talking about a job. A lot of hospitals offer tuition assistance and tuition reimbursement but you have to be employed there already and then sign an agreement.

Oh okay. Thank you.

[in South Florida] Some hospitals have programs like that such as Memorial Hospital (anyone can apply), Baptist Health (for which I'm not sure who's eligible), or Broward General who has a partnership with Broward College...but you'd have to be a student already in order to apply which doesn't mean guaranteed acceptance of the scholarship (at least as far as I know). Also, each one offers a set amount to awardees.

Thank you so much. I'll definitely check the one for Memorial Hospital and Baptist Health.

I've heard Orlando Health does it, but I have to be at least a part time or full time employee. I'm currently working as a part time there, but I have to leave the company since I've got accepted at USF in Tampa. However, I would not be able to keep my job cause it's going to be too far from me.

Yea, I just looked up the one with Memorial. You have to be an ASN student at Broward College or a BSN student at an NLN-accredited school to be eligible.

So I don't think that I can do either one then. And it's gonna take time to apply and maybe to approve by them. I was in the wait list and I recently received my admission's decision so I'm doing all my things at the last moment which I don't like. Well, thank you so much for helping. I really appreciate your time:-).

You're welcome. Good luck with everything!

are you talking about the HRSA scholarship? it is a federal scholarship that you apply for once you've been accepted to nursing school and they pay for your tuition/living expenses (not sure what percentage) and then once you've graduated, you owe them service at a rural or low-income facility (i think 2 yrs but again, not sure). i havent looked into it but i know a few people who have applied.. also not sure how competitive it is. i think the application has to be turned in before may.. not sure how that'd fit with your timeline, but it's another financial option that i've seen around this website and from others.

google HRSA nurse scholarship and you should see the link.. good luck!

Oh yeah, you're right. My friend was telling me about this HRSA scholarship, but she didn't give me much details about it and I didn't the name so I could check.

They're not accepting applications right not. It'll be for next year. Thank you though.
