I'm in need of some advice -- I'm about to enroll in school part-time and have received the dreaded FAFSA to fill out. I'm a second degree student - I have a Bachelors and I'm going back part-time for an Associates. I'm 25, about to turn 26 and not married, have no kids. I was not planning on taking out loans (I'll be working while attending) and I'm very skeptical that I'll receive any free money - as I've used it up in my first degree. Should I bother filling out the FAFSA at all? Also, I'm no longer a dependent so if I do fill it out do I have to include my parent's income information? Any and all advice would be helpful.

I would apply anyway. You can't be eligible for scholarships (I know it is a long shot) unless you apply :) And you don't have to take any of the money they offer you.

You do not need to fill out your parents income, once you turn 24 you are finally considered an independent in the governments eyes so you only have to fill out your financial information. I would fill it out, you never know what you might get!
thanks. you're right. i have nothing to lose...
