Finally hung up my fob watch

Published

It finally got all too much (the NHS) and several days ago I left my job as a staff nurse, I feel so sad as i do really love nursing, but all the staff shortages, and the expectation of more work with fewer resources has made me opt for a career change (and the thought of an "easier" worklife away from the NHS). Has anyone else left and had a career change (or considered it?). Thanks for listening

Specializes in not qualified yet, ask me soon! x. Has 2 years experience.

Hi ya, im sad to hear you have left the NHS. Do you have anything else in mind. It does make me a bit pessimistic about my future as a nurse here in the Uk, as im only a second yr student. Thats why i plan to immigrate once qualified. Do you have any words of wisdom for a second yr about to go into the big wide world of the nhs for a short time.

Sorry to hear that things have gone so bad for you, Have you thought about practice nursing... I love it, can be busy but a different type to in a hospital..

At the end of the day you have to do what is best for your health and if that means a career change then so be it

good luck on what you decide
