I started my day shift position Monday, after seven months of trying to get it switched. Our supervisor who has known I would be starting this shift is trying to put me back on my previous schedule, or trying to make me work 2.5 hours more than I want to. BTW I work in ultrasound. I need some advice.

What is the issue of working 2.5 more hours for day shift, your preferred shift?
The issue is quite simple, I would be required to do what no else in the department has to do. Also, instead of quitting at 430 it would be 7pm. I was working until 8pm. That is it in a nutshell.

It's a price I'd be willing to pay for being able to sleep nights, but that's me. I hope you're able to find a way to work out your new schedule :).

You said you were working until 8pm before. So it sounds like you switched from evening shift to day shift, but now your supervisor is trying to make you work the evening anyway? I would bring this up to your manager or HR or whoever else approved your shift change.
