Fianacing CRNA school

As for me, borrow, borrow, borrow! I will be using the Gov financial aid as well as private loans (such as PLATO). I am also keeping my eye out for scholarships...but they are not easy to get. My wife is an RN and will be working to help support the family while I'm in school. When I'm done, I hope to find an employer who will pick up some or all of my loans.

A friend who starts her program in Jan. already has signed with a hospital who is paying for her school with a 1 year committment at the end...not a bad deal!

Depending on the state in which you live and the schools that you are applying to, you may be eligible to receive in-state tuition via the academic common market. The kicker is your state of residence can not house a nurse anesthesia program. There are several other stipulations mentioned on their website, but if you qualify it can save quite a bit of cash. Student loans is how I'll be going, and hopefully financial aid. I'm going to have to at least work part time. I can't imagine not working...but I guess we'll find out. From what I've read from other posts, you can sign up with different companies who will pay off a certain percentage of your student loans if you sign a contract with them. There's a really good thread about it somewhere on this site. It's not going to be easy but there are different avenues you can take. I'm still in nursing school and am really interested in CRNA school one day...the financial aspect seems like a nightmare but after reading other posts on different ways other students made it through helped relieve some of that anxiety a little. I definately get the feeling it's worth it in the end and someone said that you should end up making more than enough to cover any loans you need to take out.

I dont know if it helps any, but there are tons of scholarships out there for CRNAs only. Try http://www.discovernursing.com, they had a few, you can also find them in the library in books on grants and scholarships. There are tons of private companies loving to give away money as a tax write-off. That is how I paid for school...through a little extra work and effort you should be able to go without taking out loans unless you want to for extra money. Let me know how it goes.

The comma shows up as part of the link. That is why it doesn't work. Even with the comma removed I end up with a strange page. Tried the old Google search and it still didn't work.

I just tried it again and its working for me....I will type it here without making it a link....and see if that works. It is a Johnson and Johnson website. It is (www)discovernursing(dot)com it is all one word on the discovernursing part....does this make sense??? I think I am way computer illiterate and so its hard for me to explain it, but I hope it helps a little. There were several scholarships on there about a month ago for just CRNA and then there is a ton of scholarships just for nursing....it doesnt designate that it has to be for the RN so you can use it for your MSN....let me know
