FGCU SPRING 2018

Published

I am applying to FGCU Spring 2018 nursing and the deadline is May 15, 2017. I haven't seen a group about this semester yet. Is any one else applying?

Did anyone get into their top choice school?

FGCU is top choice for me. I am married with children, and I can't just up and move, therefore making it my first choice. I didn't get in for Fall, but I was currently taking 2 prerequisites during the fall application time frame.

Thank you! You too! What is your first choice? I wish we didn't have to wait so long for decisions! I got into FSW for Fall, and just paid the $96 for finger printing and background and drug test. I will have to do it all over again for FGCU if I'm accepted. It's worth it though ☺️

The COA requires entry level into NA as doctoral prepared by 2025. That means all programs must be switched to doctoral by 2022 (BSN to DNP, MSN to DNP) Most programs will be BSN to DNP with the MSN to DNP for practicing CRNAs wanting to go back and get their doctorate. All current CRNAs will be grandfathered just like every other time an increase in education has been changed. The doctoral requirement is entry level or new CRNAs. Hope that clarifies things.

I don't know how they figure in accepting applicants to FGCU because I see that there are people here that did better than I in the TEAS and got denied. I really don't think the numbers are all that gets you in. For me this is my first time applying to the fall 2017 BSN program, I am a non-traditional student which means I'm older currently work as a mental health tech and was majoring in psych at fgcu. Switch directions this past year and finished my pre-reqs with a 3.4 GPA, overall 3.72. My TEAS score was a 74 and i was accepted into the program. I wish everyone luck and do not get discouraged.

Same here. I got accepted to Fsw for Fall too. I'm just waiting on Fgcu's letter. Hopefully it comes before August 4 (the deadline to comeplete all requirements for Fsw) í ½í¸©

has anyone called to see when we'll find out?

I received my letter on July 15. I was accepted into the program with a 3.75 cumulative GPA. I took the TEAS at FSW and I scored an 82.7 scored as an ADN exam.

I seriously read this last night at midnight and realized I never checked the mail on Saturday! I got up checked first this this morning. I WAS ACCEPTED!!! Here's the dilemma... I was accepted for FSW for Fall. Anyone have any insight to sway me either way (besides the obvious BSN degree vs the ASN at FSW.)

I'm on the same page as you. I was accepted at FSW too. I wanted to attend FGCU because of the degree I'll end up with but FSW has the online BSN program and it's two more semesters. I'm leaning more towards FSW, because it is the less expansive option but I have not made up my mind.

I received my rejection letter today. (Fort Lauderdale, FL)

I'm disappointed but I knew my TEAS score was just to low, I was deadly sick when I took it and I had no time to retake it.

TEAS (62.7%)

GPA (3.98) -it went up 0.02

Congrats and good luck to everyone. Never give up!
