I am applying to FGCU Spring 2018 nursing and the deadline is May 15, 2017. I haven't seen a group about this semester yet. Is any one else applying?
The COA requires entry level into NA as doctoral prepared by 2025. That means all programs must be switched to doctoral by 2022 (BSN to DNP, MSN to DNP) Most programs will be BSN to DNP with the MSN to DNP for practicing CRNAs wanting to go back and get their doctorate. All current CRNAs will be grandfathered just like every other time an increase in education has been changed. The doctoral requirement is entry level or new CRNAs. Hope that clarifies things.
I don't know how they figure in accepting applicants to FGCU because I see that there are people here that did better than I in the TEAS and got denied. I really don't think the numbers are all that gets you in. For me this is my first time applying to the fall 2017 BSN program, I am a non-traditional student which means I'm older currently work as a mental health tech and was majoring in psych at fgcu. Switch directions this past year and finished my pre-reqs with a 3.4 GPA, overall 3.72. My TEAS score was a 74 and i was accepted into the program. I wish everyone luck and do not get discouraged.
I seriously read this last night at midnight and realized I never checked the mail on Saturday! I got up checked first this this morning. I WAS ACCEPTED!!! Here's the dilemma... I was accepted for FSW for Fall. Anyone have any insight to sway me either way (besides the obvious BSN degree vs the ASN at FSW.)
