I just recently applied for Florida Gulf Coast University's Spring 2014 BSN program. Definitely freaked out because it's the only school i'm applying for and really anxious to start nursing school (as I'm sure most of you are).
I have a cumulative GPA of 3.45 and prereq about 3.6. Teas program percentile is 84 (Did not do as well as I hoped I would)
Anyone else applied? I'm curious about the GPA/ Teas program percentile stats of any applicants.
i know, but right now, i am still struggling with the official transcript from the admission office since they haven't receive it yet. did you turn everything in with the official transcript?
i send in my preliminary transcript since i only had to take microbiology lab and philosophy left.. and i finished my last 2 class during may 4. i finally send it in electronically on may 9, but they still haven't received yet. i got accepted into the school, but i am worried that this official transcript, which consist of these 2 classes might affect me. did you know how long it took for you to send your official transcript in before they got it?
I think it takes a week or so for them to receive it but they don't process it/update your transcripts for maybe 2 or so more weeks. At least that's how I remember it.
I think probably sometime this week they should receive it. Just keep checking up. I'd call the SON and just make sure it's not going to affect you. They have 8-10 weeks to make decisions anyway so I would think your transcript would me there in time for them to see
that's what they told me to, but i didn't think sending electronically should take that long.. i called the SON already and she couldn't help me out because she can't do nothing about it since that's between the department and I. i been calling them constantly, but it always goes to voicemail... this is stressing me more out.
they finally received my official transcript! now i have to just wait till july! by any chance, do you know how they estimate your new GPA if you are a transfer student?
This is something I had trouble understanding and still do. Since I've now taken classes at FGCU this past year I have a new GPA determined by my FGCU grades. However, from what I understand, the nursing school will be calculating my GPA based on what courses transferred over to FGCU (as well as my courses I took at FGCU now). What I don't understand is the fact that there were certain courses I had to retake and those grades do not show up on my FGCU transcript. I also noticed FGCU does not account grade forgiveness for transferred courses and that they use both grades. But I was told my nursing staff that they only factor in whatever shows on the gulfline transcript (or whatever transferred over). So that part I don't really get.
yea, it's pretty confusing. i hope they let one of my class slide because i had to retake math again since i had a hard teacher.... i managed to get an A for stats tho. i am just nervous and hope july come soon because i been thinking about this application process forever. what's the chance of for both of us getting in lol?

Got to just stay positive and try to keep my mind off of it until July. I don't want to have this nervous feeling all summer!
