FGCU Nursing Program fall 2011

I just applied to get into the FGCU nursing program for fall 2011. I am so stressed out and worried about whether I will get in. I got an 83% on my TEAS with an overall score of 75% for the science portion but my GPA is only a 3.13. What scores have people gotten who have gotten into the program in past semesters and who applied to get in for the fall?

I got accepted into the fall 2011 FGCU nursing program!!!!! WOOOOT! I'm so excited!

I guys I just got accepted too for fall 2011. But I dont know if I want to go. I dont think I am fit to be a nurse. Plus with all the stories of people getting burnt out, its a little scary. I only applied to FGCU and got accepted( lucky me). My stats are 3.54gpa and I think I got a 76 on the TEAS (dont remember). I just need a little advice. I dont know if I am cut for this. I just dont want to make a decision I will regret later in life. Should I take the offer?

Ocoee08.....I hear a lot of stories about people getting burnt out or getting extreme anxiety in nursing school and even beyond graduation. It doesn't phase me because I am positive that I want to be a nurse. I've never wanted something so badly! lol but not everybody feels the same way. Its not a calling for everyone; some people pick nursing as their major for the job stability or $$. Just bc nursing may not feel like its your calling, doesn't mean you're going to be a bad nurse. Find out why you chose nursing as your major to begin with. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? what dreams do you hope to accomplish? If none of your goals involve nursing then maybe you should reconsider.

honestly, I hope that you chose to go to nursing school. You've worked hard to get to this point, so maybe you should give it a try. If you're miserable at FGCU nursing, then major in something else. You never know, nursing may just be your thing! Im sure a huge percentage of current nurses started their careers feeling the same way that you do. Best of luck :hug:

hey guys I'm applying for Spring 2012 My gpa is only a 3.08 and got a 79 on the program percentile score... i know pretty sad... what do you guys think my chances are?

I'd say 50/50...in my class (Fall 2011) the lowest GPA accepted was a 3.0, but that person got a 90 on the TEAS.

thanks itsjlarious do you know if FGCU takes the "program percentile rank" for the TEAS or the "adjusted individual total score." Because i read on there website they take the program percentile rank? I just want to make sure

Hola everyone! I'm applying to FGCU College of Nursing for Spring 2012. My starts are:

GPA: 3.6

GPA (Science): 3.55

TEAS (Adjusted Indvidual): 81.3%

TEAS (Science): 79.2%

TEAS (Percentile Rank: Program): 84

I am a transfer from USF. What do you think my chances are of getting into the program? I've already been denied from three other schools, I just hope that this too, will get denied :/

I'm pretty sure you're in! I got in with a 3.3 and an 85 on the teas.
