Felony

Nurses Criminal

Published

Hi, I was in an abusive relationship with someone who was dealing drugs. Long story short I was charged with possession with intent to distribute in 2022. I keep hearing after 7 years the charge becomes less as important. I have just finished my AA in sociology. I'm applying to universities but can't let go of my dream to become an RN. Should I stay at my community college and finish the 3 science classes I have left for general education for the nursing program? I'm scared that even if I get in I'll have trouble during clinicals and could potentially be dismissed if the hospitals working with the school im at reject me as they have the right to, anybody with experience in this? Thank you

Every time I renewed my nursing license, or applied for a job, I had to report if I had ever been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor. Getting into nursing school is hard. Getting a nursing job is hard. Would you admit a student , or hire someone with a history of felony involved with drugs? Consult with a nursing admissions advisor.
