Hey Tiff,
I just made it home from church, and I got your message. I do plan on taking the exam again as soon as God gives me the confirmation to test, and for me to know that my confidence is where it needs to be. I haven't received my CPR form yet that tells me where I need to brush up with the information, but when I do, I will know what I need to put more time into.
I have prayed about it all, & I am giving it to God for Him to have His way with it. I begin studying for the real victory coming, which I'm praying that, that attempt will be the one to celebrate! This study starts tomorrow morning.
Prayers up hun! We are on a new mission! LOL

Hi ReecyRN32!!! I'm so happy to see your free spirited self ready to study for the exam again. I notice that you mention that you have the knowledge and want to strengthen the "thinking process". Have you looked into resources? if you need anything, I'd be happy to help. Did you write down a study plan? You have the positive mind set so you are half way there :)

Hey Proverbs!!!
Its good to hear from ya! all of the support from you both is amazing, and I thank you both so much!
So I wrote out a new study plan, and I will be purchasing my Uworld in the morning to go with the plan. I have a copy of the Kaplan strategies for test takers, and how to attack critical thinking questions, and prioritization as well. It also came with the decision tree method with how I should be thinking when approaching each question no matter what the topic or process is. So I am reading those bullet points 1st before I start actually doing questions to get the flow in my mind as I go. I want to setup a flow that I dont forget when it is testing time again.
I created me some time slots in my day just for studying, so that I am doing my thang on a ritualistic bases to avoid the feelings of spending to much time breaking, and not enough time focusing, and to stay in a medical mindset. I will be doing the QB with Uworld by sections so that I can learn the a new approach with the types of questions I am answering, to implant a new way in my head to answer them. Most of all I am praying from my confidence to step back out into a vulnerable place to test again, knowing and hoping God shows mercy on me, and allow me to win.
My biggest concern is how to answer the questions effectively when I approach them with the knowledge I have in my mind, time management, and to do it all with having no fear. If you have some strategies about how I should approach the Q.A. also a more in-dept way for me to tap into my critical care mindset, that would be great!
Text me when you can!

Hi ReecyRn32
NCLEX questions take steps with the facts you have learned and apply them to a patient like what is system is the disease process and what is the normal function. ...what symptoms do you expect to find knowing the normal function, what should the nurse do to make the patient better...etc....the big picture is you need to know normal A&P and nursing fundamentals and nursing management like the back of your hand
Time management is needed do you work f/t?

Morning Proverbs,
So as of right now I wont be working to get myself together with this exam. My next move & Job is being a Nurse, so this sacrifice is serious.
I do understand normal functions of the body systems, I do think I need to brush up on my fundamental facts, and maybe procedures. some of the out of the way disease processes do go over my head at times, but I have good understandings with the ones that has the leading causes of death, and local illinesses. there were ones on the exam that I never saw. but there were more then many that I did know.
A big problem that I assessed within myself is how I approach Questions/knowledge Ive never seen before, & how the find a way to answeit correctly. That critical thought process doesn't always kick in fast enough. The consistency behind that is something I know I have to strenghten. I have some big praying to do.
So I did get my CPR papers yesterday, and it stated that I was "Near Passing Levels" on all areas except one area that was a "Below Passing level." So do understand the exam & how it works, and that I was trailing that fine line of passing & failing the entire exam, but its those high level of passing q.a. that I needed to get right in the end, but I ran out of time.
In Jesus Name, im broken but not out.

I understand. Good question. For questions you do not know one good test strategy is to practice process of elimination first. That will help narrow your chances to 50/50. What you will do is go through each answer telling yourself why each answer is "wrong" than right. It truly does help.
are you familiar with maslow and abc's?
Hey Proverbs,
I Think one of your tips/sentences cut off in the top, but im thankful for this feedback!
The questions breakdown tips are great! & I am very familiar with Maslow, & the ABC's, those strategies I did use, & use a lot. This is the big reason why I am so upside down when it comes to how I preformed on this past exam. I am totally stumped. I do know that I need to work on the adult health section which discusses all of the disease processes. and with the results I recieved, I have to work harder with answering the most critical questions correctly to stay above the line.
Reecy I found that with my fails with nclex that I was over studying. This time of course I passed but I only did 20-25 questions a day after work then on the weekends or days off I did a little more. It's not the amount that you do it's the idea of learning what the question is asking you. Do you have the 25 page study guide that is going around on this blog? If not I have it and can email it. It is key points for nclex and it helped me so much.

I am def. going over it again, & in better detail starting Monday I allowed my past subscription to finish out, so that I could get a fresh look at all of the questions and rationales and to re-evaluate the way I did it before so that I can do it different and better now. So that brings me a good thinking process to begin this process again. I just want to be successful, not freak out, and allow Jesus to do His will to get me through this setback.
My mind is focused on my success, and family.
