We are looking at putting a feeding protocol of sorts into place to guide advancement of our preemie feedings. This will be a combined effort of nursing staff, OT/PT, and lactation. Does anyone use something similar to a protocol at your hospital? What do you use to determine feeding readiness/time for advancement? Any examples of experiences or paperwork would be great! Thanks!

I am an OT and we do some feeding in the NICU. We also do not yet have a feeding protocol. We try to see the feeders at least Monday-Friday once a day but it is difficult to always carry over with all parties involved. If anyone has a protocol, I would really appreciate a peek at it.
