Fccj Nat Test

U.S.A. Florida

Published

I just missed the cut off for the FCCJ RN Spring 09 program.

I will be retaking my NAT and applying for the Summer Term.

On the NAT, I did horrible on the verbal section due to the time running out.

I wanted to see if any of the fccj nursing student had a good study guide for the verbal section of the NAT. I have studied the Nursing School Entrance Exam book by Learning Express.

Just looking for other ideas of what to study for this particular section. All of the other parts I did well on.

Any light you can shed would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks again.

Hey they actually suggest a book to look through for it. The Nursing School and Allied Health Entrance Exams; I got it for like 2 dollars off of half.com. And it is the same test you take both times around. So that should help. I know my friend did HORRIBLE in the math because she thought she would have time to go back, but she didn't and got in the lowest percentages. But she still got in for Spring of '09 because the rest of her scores were good and her grades were good as well. Good luck!

Misswhitney since you used the Nursing School & Allied Health Entrance Exams book I wanted to see if you could help me out.

Which section exactly is the one used for the FCCJ NAT? I know there are 4 sections...is section IV Practice for Practical/Vocational Nursing School Entrance Examinatons the part to go through or is it another section?

Thanks!

Give me a list of all the sections. I want to say it is the first one in the book. But if you give me a list I can pick from it.

the sections within part iv (practice for practical/vocational nursing school entrance examinations) are: 1. verbal skills (antonyms, synonyms, spelling usage), 2.arithmatic & math, 3. health & science, and 4. reading comprehension…are these the ones that i will be seeing on the net?

thanks so much for your help!!!

I do not think that is the one I studied. I want to say it is the first or second section in the book. The first few pages tell you what to study for each test.

The book carries 4 parts. It explains what the NET/NAT and TEAS (and other tests) are…but it fails to tell you which section to study for each.

1. Part 1: Information

2. Part 2: Practice for Registered Nursing

- Verbal Ability

- Math

- Science (life science, biology, chemistry, ap1, ap2)

- Reading Comprehension

3. Part3: Practice for Allied Health School

- Verbal Ability

- Quantitative Ability (includes algebra)

- Science (biology, AP1, chemistry)

- Reading Comprehension

4. Part 4: practice for Practical/Vocational Nursing

- Verbal Skills

- Arithmetic & Math

- Health & Science (it gives a glossary of terms)

- Reading Comprehension

Also this might be really dumb on my part but is there a difference between NAT and NET?

Just wanted to double check because I heard (not sure if this is true) that the sections in this book are harder than the actual test itself and that there is an actual book called NET Study Guide that is better for the NET...but maybe I am looking to deep into this. Sorry but thanks for ALL you HELP!!

I reeeallly Really want to say it was Part 3. I know for sure it is not part 4. I remember, anatomy, chemistry, and microbiology on there, but I don't remember any life science.

I don't know if there is a difference. I know St. John's requires it but I think it has a more basic math.
