FCCJ Fall '09???

Anyone else planning on applying to FCCJ's nursing program for Fall '09? I figured we might as well start a "support group" thread of sorts for those of us who are. Never too early to start, right?

Yari, They'll take the statistics grade because it is a higher level math!

hearing that really aggravates me. i have alot riding on this acceptance/denial letter. Do these people not know that we have jobs, lives and FAMILIES? I was told if i dont bring in my acceptance letter soon im going to be dropped from my childcare scholarship. i mean, im just saying, if they SAY 6-8 weeks.... they should MEAN 6-8 weeks. Sorry, im just alittle frustrated, I've been stalking my poor mailman for weeks now... lol

Maybe **** just told you that it could be the first week of August to irritate us the way she feels she's being irritated. If the word gets out that it could be another couple of weeks maybe she thinks she won't get as many calls. This is probably not very realistic, but this is what I'm telling myself. I'm still going to stalk the mailman. lol.

I am also very aggrevated. I need to know what I am going to do with my children. Someone mentioned something about childcare scholarship how do you go about getting that?

So I am guessing the mail has arrived for most of you and there is nothing from the nursing dept? HAs anyone called to see if they have a est when letters are being mailed out?

Hello all. I am a 3rd term nursing student. I started last fall and remember how frusterating it was waiting for the mail. I remember calling and ****** said that letters had not went out then the next day I got the big envelope!! So there is still hope for this week :o)The waiting is insane but once you get it, then its waiting again until orientation. I remember being sooooo excited!!! Our fourth and might I add last term schedules just came out yesterday, so hopefully you all will hear something soon

So I opened the mailbox today and there was a BIG WHITE PACKET in there!!!! but not from FCCJ. Ugh! :uhoh3:

2barrn2010 thanks for the encouragement, maybe we will get the letters soon. Its just hard getting your hopes and being disapointed everyday. Since you are entering your last term, how is the program so far? Which semester is the hardest? and did you work at all during the program?

I am in my last semester now I think 2nd term, Adult Health I was the hardest. Term I just has a lot of time consuming activities and it is also the semester where you have to have the most community service. Term IV has been soooo easy. I love it. Term III was my absolute favorite, but is because its Peds and OB and I want to be a Peds nurse. I would suggest taking Adult Health first 2nd term, and Peds first 3rd term. I worked one day a month at Publix but I know some people who worked full time still. Just depends on what you can handle.

Hey, I would have to agree with misswhitney, AD1 is probably the most diffiult. Semester 1 is pretty hard too, but only because of the time commitment. You must have some good time management skills to juggle all the classess and tests for term 1. I did what misswhitney just advised. I took peds the first half of this semester and I'm now in OB and loving it!! I workr 40 hours a week. so yes it can be done and I also have a kid to tend to.

Maybe today will be your lucky day, and the big envelope will come

miss whitney, can you suggest any good clinical or lecture instructor for AD2? How many clinical hours is role transformation?

staff names have been edited out of several posts. it is against the terms of service to mention staff names on the public board. you may share that info with a private message, which activates after you have 15 posts, but you may not post that information on the public board, which is fully searchable on google. if you see a staff name posted, please use the report feature in the lower left of the post to let us know about it.

you agreed to abide by the terms of service when you registered here. tos clearly states:

no potentially libelous information about specific schools, instructors, or health care facilities/entities should be posted in these forums. while it is important to be able to network, everyone should be mindful of the following:

  1. it is a small world - when we narrow it down to a state and throw in some personal info, there is actually a pretty good chance someone may recognize you if you are not careful. your privacy is paramount to us.
  2. while allnurses.com is a wonderful place to vent (without excess personally identifiable details) it is not the place to express why ("x" specific person, place or program) is terrible. gripe away, but since we cannot permit allegations to be made about named entities, your care in not naming them is very much appreciated.
  3. please do not give out personal information about others. do not name names where anyone could identify the person in any facility including your nursing programs.

lastly, if you disagree with this decision, please post to the admin help desk. here is the link:admin help desk

Thanks misswhitney and 2barrn, I don't think I will be working at least during the first two semesters (hopefully I won't run out of money too soon). Praying for patience, but I hope those letters do come quickly:)
