FCCJ Fall '09???

Anyone else planning on applying to FCCJ's nursing program for Fall '09? I figured we might as well start a "support group" thread of sorts for those of us who are. Never too early to start, right?

Sorry Cookie09...better count again...this is only week 6 :( we may have 2 more weeks to go! Ugh. When I dropped off the application packet, the woman at the desk told me to expect to hear something the 3rd week in July. I'm thinking we'll hear something the end of next week.

I thought I had counted right in thinking that six full weeks had already past and the end of this week would be 7 total. I just really hope to hear something by the end of next week. We've waited this long I guess we can all wait a little bit longer.

I guess it's all semantics...I counted like this:

Monday, June 1st - Application Deadline

Monday, June 8th - 1 week since deadline

Monday, June 15th - 2 weeks since deadline

Monday, June 22nd - 3 weeks since deadline

Monday, June 29th - 4 weeks since deadline

Monday, July 6th - 5 weeks since deadline

Monday, July 13th - 6 weeks since deadline

Monday, July 20th - 7 weeks since deadline

Monday, July 27th - 8 weeks since deadline

When all is said and done, it doesn't really matter how we count the time. FCCJ will mail them whenever they are ready. All we can do is wait.

I see what you're saying. The 13th was the 6th Monday since the deadline, but it marks the end of the 6th full week. But you are right, it doesn't really matter in the end. We still don't have our letters. Nothing came today. I'm trying really hard to be relaxed and not be so antsy, but the longer it takes the harder it is. lol. I hope everyone is staying calm.

LOL!!! I remember all of us doing the same crazy dance around the mailbox!

Anyway..... For the summer, apps were due "Feb 1" which fell on the weekend. As far as I understand, they still accepted apps on Feb 2. We got our acceptance letters in the mail on March 24th with the packet via email on the 27th (and a hardcopy in the mail later than that...)

March 23rd was 7 weeks after submittal and we got the letter the next day. I would bet dimes to donuts that you will either get it tomorrow or next Tuesday. SO....relax! You are almost done with the wait! :D

Anybody check their mail today?

Nothing today.

...and nothing again today :(

Maybe next week...

Just to let everyone know I called ********** today to see if the letters had been sent yet and she told me nothing had been sent. So I asked her if she knew when they would be and she said "probably the last week of July, first week of August"!! I am so mad, they told us 6-8 weeks and this is the eighth week. I had my mom call later to see if this was for real and she tried to convince my mom that next week would be eight weeks and then proceeded to say that the reason its taking so long is because she has to answer 50 phone calls a day.

I don't know what to do because I've signed up for classes just in case I don't get in and the deadline to pay for them is this Thursday. I have Bright Futures so it will pay for my classes, but if I do get in I don't know how long it will take for Bright Futures to refund my money to me so that I can pay for my nursing classes. This is so stressful! I don't understand why it takes them so long!!

Initially I wasn't anticipating anything until the first week of August because my advisor told me it would be 8weeks. Of course I'm hopeful that it will be sooner, I'm not getting my hopes up!! The deadline was June 1st so eight weeks will be July 27th, we only have one more week to wait. Of course I'm still anxiously awaiting the mail everyday!! Good luck to everyone, not much longer now.

Hi,

Does anyone know which math they choose for points? For example, I have a C in college algebra and an A in Statistics, which one do they choose?

********* knows how busy it is every semester when people apply to the program. You would assume there would be an adequate amount of staff to answer phone calls, calculate points, mail letters, etc. If you honestly know that the entire process takes longer than eight weeks then tell us. I guess it just frustrates me that they give us a letter in writing that says 6-8 weeks but are now saying it could be a few weeks longer (school itself starts not long after that). I understand the people who are frustrated due to taking classes and paying tuition because my work has completely shifted my schedule for this, so some of us have other things going on that depend on our acceptance. I am still hopeful that we will hear something this week by next week at the latest. Just like everyone else I'm very anxious and frustrated and would just like to know. I just wish the school would give us the respect of letting us know in the timeframe that they set in place. When someone does hear something please let us know.
