Specializes in NICU.

I'm going to start travel nursing in August, and am starting to look at available assignments.

Does anyone care to share their favorite hospitals to travel to? In particular if you have experience in the NICU at that hospital that would be helpful.

I have been working with Flexcare and American Mobile, but am open to suggestions for other companies as well.

I have 3 years of NICU experience in a Level IIIc 82 bed unit.

Norfolk Va. Children's hospital of the Kings Daughter. Awesome

NY Presbyterian, though you may float to well baby and PP.

St. Agnes in Baltimore is wonderful. Will float to well baby and PEDS, but they will only give you infants.

JHH, but don't even think about it if you don't know EPIC. If you know EPIC they will take you immediately.

Also ETCH in Knoxville, but be aware they have a NAS unit you may float to.

Hope this helps.

Im finishing up an assignment at Yale. DO NOT GO THERE. They treat you like you dont know anything and always stick you with feeder growers. Its awful.

Specializes in NICU, PICU, CVICU.

CMPC in San Francisco, CA - Will get sick kids. I never floated. Scheduling is a a little chaotic for everyone. (Medical Solutions)

CHOC in Orange, CA - Floated frequently to PICU and CVICU but enjoyed working there. Traveler friendly hospital. Self scheduled. Never had mandatory changed dates on schedule. (Rise Medical Staffing)

Kaiser Roseville in Roseville, CA - Cush job. No float unit. Set schedule. (Fastaff)

Sutter Roseville in Roseville, CA - Chill unit. Usually prefer travelers who have mother/baby experience which I did not. Many nurses have gone to work for Kaiser. (Medical Solutions)

BIDMC in Boston, MA - Not very many super sick kids. Feeder grower land for travelers with CPAP thrown in here and there. (Aya Healthcare)
