Hey everyone, I've been speaking with a recruiter from AMN for the past couple months to attempt to start traveling at the end of Sept. I don't want to venture too far away from home for my first couple assignments (I live in NW PA) and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions regarding some good travel assignments more East and maybe some places to avoid. Also, I've read numerous threads saying to use more than one agency, any reccommendations on other agencies? Thank you in advance! Also, I'm a cardiac/telemetry nurse if that makes a difference for the assignment.

If you have a good recruiter, honest information about your choices should be coming your way. One good thing about AM is a huge amount of available assignment so finding a suitable first assignment should be easy. If you and your recruiter do not communicate well, this is much less likely.
It it is to your benefit to sign up with several more agencies (if you communicate well with their recruiters). You are on a steep learning curve and you have no way to know if the guff a single recruiter is spouting is truth or made up without other recruiters to talk to. Having more agencies will also widen your assignment choices and help you find out your fair market worth.
