Hi Everyone..
I had an interview yesterday for FNP ( masters). I was super nervous, but they made me feel comfortable. They asked me ---Why do you want to be an NP? Major weakness? Career goals... They also asked me about the philosophy of my old school (PBSC).. wow!! I really did not know this one! I had to be honest and tell
them I did not know, but that i was sure it was focused on the aspect of Caring. They also asked me about trends in nursing.. ( Geez!!nothing was flowing in my brain at this time.. I was letting my nerves get the best of me..). So I took a deep breath and collected myself!, Then I just started talking. I made sure I told them I was nervous because this meant so much to me! ( both ladies smiled and said "that's ok.. Everyone gets like this."..)...
I left the interview with mix feelings. I think I could have done a little better, but I gave it my best. and that's what counts! I am praying and staying positive.
The best advice I can give you: Be on time and be yourself!! You can do this! Don't try too hard because they will know. They just want to get a sense of who you are and how committed you are to your education as well as the nursing profession
Best of luck to everyone...
Hey everyone! I had my interview last week and it was pretty much all those questions as well. They are very nice so that really calms the nerves down. The best advice I can give is to take a deep breath and take your time answering the questions they ask. Just focus and you got this! I'm applying to the MSN program in Davie. Also has anyone started the background check? I know they want us to use our FAU email, but no ones been admitted yet so I don't know if we are suppose to wait to start the background check or start it right away? Anyone know?
ingrid10, you're right it's best to just wait to be admitted then. Although if you call the graduate college they can look up your email. I was able to obtain mine. The email they sent was just a bit confusing because it said "Please initiate your admissions background check if you have not already done so". I'm assuming the same as you that we need to wait to be admitted because that background check is almost $200.
widbsn, I sent the application on Feb. 3rd and received the email on Feb. 24th. I hope you hear back from them soon! I know that interviews will be going on for a while. I had asked when we should hear back, but they didn't have a definite answer.
Good luck to everyone! :)

I have been on this site and I haven't seen any new postings in regards to this FAU 2017 NP program so I decided to start one. Has anyone applied to the program? If so, have you received a interview invitation?
