FAU FNP class August 2018

Nursing Students NP Students

Hi! I wanted to create a space for any applicants to FAUs FNP or AGNP program beginning in August 2018 to post updates :)

Hello! Submitted my application about a week ago.

I applying to the MSN-FNP program at the HBOI at FAU. I thought everything was squared away, but found out today they require a three-credit undergrad nursing research course as a prerequisite. The nursing research course (EBP) I took at FSU was TWO credit hours and I've been told it may or may not meet this requirement. I have two undergraduate degrees and over 200 credit hours, including a course in my prior undergrad in research and experience as a research assistant for a published meta-analyses study on HIV education. Does anyone have any feedback or advice about this at all? I'm dying to get in and hate to be held back due to one credit hour when I have taken a nursing research course ... anything would help.

Hey there! I would recommend putting your research background in your nursingcas under "experiences" . I'm sorry they aren't accepting this- did you speak to someone directly about it?

Also, did you send separate applications for each campus on nursingcas?

They approved me this afternoon based on the material/information I provided, so I am good to go as soon as Nursing CAS finally verifies me.

How long did it take for you?

That's great! Approved meaning they sent In your application? I went to FAU for both my undergraduate degrees so I had everything needed prerequisite wise I'm just waiting to hear word about an interview.

Right, but you also had to load everything into NursingCAS, correct?

Yes I entered all my courses by hand into nursingcas

You applying to the MSN? And no, I only submitted an application for HBOI as that is the only campus I am planning on attending.

By "approved" I mean they said that my coursework will meet the requirements for the nursing research class and they'd review my application once CAS finished up my transcripts

Yeah I applied for MSN. That's awesome they accepted it :)

Any idea how many applications they receive and/or admit and how it's determined based on the campus? What are your stats?

That's actuslly a question I have myself- how many people apply vs get accepted. Wish I knew the answer. I do know they accept DNP applicants before MSN and they did try to get me to apply to DNP but I'd like my masters first to begin working. Hopefully more will join soon that can offer some insight

Hello Guys! I recently applied to FNP Master's Program for the Davie Campus, only one I applied to, I live in Miami so its a 40 min drive, it is closest to me. I have also wondered how many people apply and get accepted, and found it strange no one started a forum earlier. All my material is sent in and all transcripts have been verified so now its a waiting game. GOOD LUCK to all!
