Hi everyone!

I am applying to the Advanced Standing Nursing Program at Farmingdale for Spring 2020. Just wanted to see if there is anyone else out there applying. If you would like to share your grades, feel free! Good luck to everyone! ??‍⚕️

Prerequisite GPA: 4.0

GPA: 3.67

TEAS: 82.7

Hi everyone! I will be applying to Farmingdale advance standing nursing program 2021 and I had a few questions. I just found this website and I don’t know if any of you are still on this website but I thought I would give it a try.
My overall GPA is going to be a 3.3 my prereq GPA is a bit higher and I’m studying a ton for the TEAS exam. I’m hoping to do well on the TEAS to make up for my GPA. On the application does it have a spot to list any certifications such as CNA or CPR? I’m thinking about getting my CNA license if that will help my application stand out. Also did you have to go in for an interview? The applications don’t come out until August 1st but I’m anxious and excited.

Hello! I don't recall if it had any spot for certifications or not. There might be a section where you upload certificates but I might be getting that confused with other applications. We didn't have any interview process. I found out I got in in November I think and then we had orientation in December. I know during orientation we filed out a sheet that let us put down if we had any certs. A lot of the people in the program had no healthcare background so they don't totally look at that as a factor. Some people had healthcare background but I think it was found that most did not. 3.3 is a good GPA and if you do well on the TEAS that makes it even better! I hope this helps a little. Best of luck!

There was no interview. I would say that you may want to get the other classes out of the way instead of getting the CNA. You can see the liberal arts and sciences here https://www.farmingdale.edu/curriculum/bs-nur.shtml It will make the semesters lighter to have those classes knocked out. I thought about doing the CNA but decided to take courses the fall before, and I think it was a better decision. Good luck!
