Famu Nursing spring 2015

Published

is anybody planning to apply for spring 2015 for famu nursing?

Greetings,

My name is Rachelle I also applied to FAMU in Aug as a transfer student. Actually, they sent me a letter with my student i.d etc short time after. Have you received your letter? be sure to call to ensure you have every document needed for a smooth app process. What are your housing arrangements?

I have only applied to FAMU BTW

From my stand point if you have an A.A degree BIO is not required neither is AMH...

Hey Rachelle! My name is Jade

I never recieved an actual letter but I did call and they gave me my student ID and said I did go through the initial school application process correctly. Im a transfer student too and I think the thing I'm most worried about is housing also. Seems like it'll be such a quick turn around time when/if we do get admitted. Have anyone heard of any good places to live?

Also if you don't mind me asking, what was your guys GPAs? I'm at a 3.6 now

Hi, my GPA 3.2. Your GPA is awesome. I have heard The Boulevard is a pretty descent place to camp out. In fact, it was recently remodeled. Where do you currently live? I am saving for housing now. Plus $700 is due upon going to orientation. I am getting prepared for fast notices.

3.2 is great also! I just looked up the Boulevard and it does look really nice! Probably a bit early but do you have any prospective roommates in mind already? Right now I live in Melbourne, gunna be graduating from EFSC with my AA this semester. Also, how long was your essay? Mine was like 750 words though I wanted to keep it a little shorter than that

No, I do not have any potential roommates in mind. Hi! you can be the first lol. I am from Jacksonville, fL, I wrote a 6 page paper, I am a first generation college graduate, however, I had a lot to say from past to present life experiences. And I also spoke on my experience as a student practical nurse.

Perfect! You're my first also haha.

Ahh that's great, just out of curiosity, how long is the lpn program? And have you gotten any confirmation email or heard back from the school to say they received your packet? This whole completely in the dark feeling is crazy

Hello! The Boulevard to sent my lease via email this morning. Currently their is space with a few pharmacy students 4 bedroom/4 bath but they all graduate this year. Do you have a potential guarantor? it will help waive your deposit fee on your room. I want to get situated with housing and a part-time job before January. I heard we are notified a couple weeks before class start, if we were accepted or not, so that is nerve wrecking itself. But no I have not received a confirmation email, I actually overnight my app right before the deadline so I am really concern. My program was 11 months...Are you working throughout the program if were to get accepted? WOW! FAMU BSN program is 4 years, I thought 3 years... but hi it will be totally worth while...

Oh okay yeah i had to overnight my application also but it says they signed for it at 10am on the 15th so I know I made the deadline and I'm sure you did also. And your signing a lease for the boulevard meaning you're about to put money down on it? Housing is a big concern for me also I'm just scared to actually sign any leases God forbid I don't get in.

I personally am unsure if I'm gunna be working during the program or not. I know If I do it won't be a lot of hours, but I think with the program work load, if I can get away with just focusing on school I will. Do you plan on doing the Lpn stuff during the weekends maybe? Do you still work 12 hours shifts with that?

Also so I think most BSN programs are 4 years unless accelerated but you're right, it'll definitly be more than worth it!

Hello! no payments are due up front(how cool), I'm just securing a room. However, payments are due upon the move-in date. Also, their is only one 4br/4bath section left, this section is newly remodel, stainless steel, 50"(although I am not a television person) etc for $469 a month. I wish we had a nursing group of four that could fill this space. As I stated, no payments are due now. Yes! I plan to work part-time, once I pass my state boards I will eventually transition into an lpn position, right now I'm looking to transfer as a cna.

No payments due now at all? That's crazy. I definitely wanna get in on that then! Maybe we can talk more about it on email or Facebook?

And ahh, that'll be great. When are your boards?
