I am graduating in December with MSN for FNP, looking at joining the service. Army seems to be best choice since I will be 42 at that time. Looking for anyone to gove me an idea about what to expect, I have spoke to one recruiter and waiting to hear from another for healthcare professions. Info looking for includes base options, term of commitment, bonus for sign on, schedule and where working, all info appreciated

Specializes in Anesthesia.

I don't think age will be an issue with any of the services right now. I would check with all the services including USPHS. Unless you have prior military service though you won't be eligible for mandatory retirement at age 62 which is different than just getting an age waiver.

Specializes in EMT, ER, Homehealth, OR.

Do not speak with any recruiter (ie enlisted) other then a Healthcare recruiter unless you are asking them how to get ahold of the HC recruiter.
