Family Nurse Practitioner in the military

Published

Hope to get some information from any nurse practitioner who is serving in the navy at this time. Was looking at going back into the reserves and was asked about changing to active duty. My question is where do they let nurse practitioners serve? If it just in a clinic or can you do a tour as a battalion surgeon, in the er, or at sea? Is there any board certification pay or incentive pay like the physicians to bring the NP pay inline like you would make in the civilian world? Trying to decide if it's worth leaving civilian practice for active duty. Thanks for the help.
