Hello all! I scored an interview today with the family maternity center, I felt really good about it so I hope I get hired. I would be working in postpartum, L&D, and pediatrics. I really feel like I belong in this position & department. Just wanted to know if you guys love it in those departments, are you a RN or CNA? Thank you!

Congratulations! I love being in L&D!! You don't see a lot of CNAs in OB, so I'd be curious to hear about how that role plays out for you. Our floor is all RNs.
Thanks for replying! L&D is strictly nurses that care for the moms and babies, but the CNA's do unit clerk work on that side and help if needed and also do patient care on the postpartum side. We help with pediatrics a little as well. So it is kind of a mixed roll. I will definitely let you know how it plays out if I get the job. :)

Yes, congratulations!!! This can be a hard area to get into! I'm an RN in mother/baby and peds and I LOVE it. All three units are a little bit different paced and provide different types of care...but still 10x's better than med/surg IMHO! If you like babies and little kids this is the place to be :). Best of luck to you!
Thank you! I should be hearing this week or early next week on whether or not I got it :) crossing my fingers!
