Working as a CNA during pre-requisites
Well it all depends on what you can handle, my first and second semester I was working full time as a CNA and taking 4 classes. My third and fourth semester up to now I am taking 2-4 classes and working part time (just my pre-reqs). I had to re-take 2 classes. Ideally though if you could, no working through the nursing school portion would be beneficial or at least PRN. I do know of people who work full time during nursing school, some of my friends do/did and it is quite stressful. You will figure out what works best for you.

Failed last semester and it hurts
Breathe, give yourself time to be upset, but with that being said EVERYTHING good or bad happens for a reason. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, go back and kick some booty if that's really your dream career. You can do it.

Realizing that Nursing is Not for Me
Hey there! Fear not. Sometimes nursing is really not for everyone. BUT that being said I think there is something out there for almost everyone. I myself am not one for adult nursing/CNAing I found out, and that's OKAY. Not everyone is. I just landed a job in the NICU and am beyond excited. You just have to find what you may like. Have you thought about working in a med-spa or plastic surgeons office? I LOVE that idea and hope to work with both babies AND part time in a med-spa. Its going to be okay. Take some time to think about it. I gained experience on a med/surg/orho floor because at the time that's who would hire me, trust me, I had my share of mental breakdowns but you get through them. :) Hope that helped! Feel free to message me. -Racheal

Hospitals that hire new grads
I am willing to relocate after graduation, I will graduate with my associates and most likely finish my bsn online. Does anyone know of any hospitals that hire new grads (feel free to pm me) so atleast I know ahead of time where to start considering. Any information would be a world of help. Thank you so much! :)

Is it just me?
Hello there! I don't know if this helps or means anything since I only start my prerequisites this fall and am only a CNA (just saying that in terms of I haven't been through the tough stuff school wise) BUT just remember that the 2-4 years you are pushing through is just a short span compared to what you have been through and have yet to go through. In the end it will be worth it and you will be glad you did it (at least that is my thought process). My mom, brother, and cousin have all gone through 2-4 year nursing programs and have said it was completely worth it. Anyways, good luck and I wish you the best!

Do Nurses really make "good money?"
My cousins wife is a new grad (ASN) in the ER and she makes 40+ dollars an hour. She is in Sacramento though, so the living expense is pricey.

Classroom CNA student
Read out of the book, did power points, quizzes, workbook questions, video clips and worked in the skills lab each day we had class. My course was 3 months; 2 days a week 4 hours classes.

Any Idaho pre-nursing students?
Well the community college I'm going into is only a AS program after my pre-req's. As much I would like to go to a university I cant afford it, and plus community colleges are just as good. After I graduate I will get my BSN online in a 15 month program. That's my plan, but who know how it will play out! I was just curious on what other people were taking for their pre-reqs.

Thanks for all your responses! and organizedchaos LOL i'm sorry if I came off as having an attitude, I try to add smileys, sarcasm, and say thank you to prevent that. May I ask why you think that? I didn't know I was coming off that way. I know I haven't started yet, but I still like to express what I would enjoy specializing in lol doesn't mean i'm going to, id just like to as of now. (:
