Family friendly nursing, home care?

I an going to graduate my ADN in August. I have two small children and I'm looking for family friendly areas to work in. I currently work (CNA) in a hospital and always assumed I would be med/surge in a hospital, but it is anything but flexible or tolerant of my other obligations. Maybe it is the hospital. I live in CT, does anyone know a good place?

Some one suggested home care for my, stating good hours and flexiblity. I'm not oppossed to home care, just have not given it much thought. Is it really better or does it just seem that way from the outside?
