Falsely Accused

Published

On November 23, 2015 myself and another aide allegedly abused a resident within the nursing home we worked. I say allegedly because it never happened. The women whom reported us had bone cancer that had metastasized to her brain and lungs and didn't even know who she was at this point. She supposedly reported it on November 23rd after it was supposed to of happened. She also supposedly reported it to a nurse manager whom was reported to the state by the other aide that was with me, in which they had obvious problems. We were allowed to work all weekend. Straight through Monday and at the end of Monday we got suspended. Almost 3 weeks went by, and no contact from state or doh. No contact from the nursing home. So I called and quit because I needed another job since it was Christmas time. I have since been hired and worked at another nursing home and a hospital. There is nothing pending on my prometrics. I never got fired. Never heard back from anyone until today. Today exactly 7 months later the department of health called me. I didn't recognize the number so i did not answer. My question is, should I seek a lawyer at this point? I did not do what I was accused of. The lady died not even a week after alleged abuse (no it was not physical abuse. It was supposed verbal which did not happen). It was a word of a now deceased woman. There are no witnesses to said alleged abuse mostly because it did not happen. I have 14 years experience and never once before November 23 2015 have I ever had any issues. I have everyone I have ever worked with written statements as to the kind of aide I am. As well as competent residents I have taken care of. At this point 7 months later. A deceased woman and no witness, I feel harassed. Not to mention EVERY investigating person at the home has been fired for abuse and, neglect. Any suggestions would help
