Fall 2014 VC/UCF Concurrent Program

Published

Hey Everyone!

I have been browsing the forums and I have not seen any threads about the Fall 2014 Valencia/UCF concurrent program. Did anyone else here apply? I finished my application yesterday.

My stats are:

Science GPA: 4.0 (substituted CHM for BSC Fundamentals of Biology I)

Pre-Req overall: 3.9 (I'm assuming Pre-Req GPA means the 8 classes combined, yes?)

A.A December 2013 overall GPA: 3.8

Teas 84.7% (My strongest scores were Science and Math, English and Grammar were both ok/average)

I retook the TEAS to get a better English/Reading score, and I scored just a little bit higher this time around. English is my second language so I always read things twice (not a good thing when you're taking a timed test, lol), so I ran out of time on the Reading section. (I did get a good score on the ones that I was able to answer though!)

The context cues and word context were very hard too, I spent 3-5 minutes trying to figure out the words. (It ALWAYS came down to two choices!)

It's frustrating scoring in the 90's in both Science and Math, but scoring in the low 80's and mid 70's in grammar. I read that a lot of people don't score very high in the Science portion, but make up the score by scoring great in Reading and Grammar. I guess mine is the other way around.

Anyone else? :angrybird1:

They just said it had to do with the Valencia application process. But I submitted everything which makes me so worried! :/

I would definitely try to contact someone and find out what it is that they think your missing...

I did but of course no one has emailed back yet and no one picks up the phone! But hopefully it's just a mistake

Well if you submitted everything needed, than I am sure it's a mistake. Try not to stress...I know it's easier said than done. :nailbiting:

Did you take Eng. Comp I? That's all I can think of. The UCF application does not ask for this, but in the VC/UCF checklist it does state ENC 1101 is required. It takes a while for them to e-mail you back, but I'm sure everything is fine!

Thanks! And yes I did! I received my A.A and everything.. I'm thinking they just didn't see my application yet because I emailed it to Valencia Health Science Applications.

Hey everyone, my name is Ryan. I have applied for the Valencia/UCF concurrent program this Fall. I am already scheduled to start Valencia's ASN program this fall, but it would be great to have acceptance into the concurrent program to shorten the time it would take to get my BSN. I am nervous though, I feel my stats aren't the strongest (freshman year was not good to me lol). I have an overall GPA of 3.3, and a TEAS score of 83.something. I am not sure what my GPA is for just my science and math, but I know they meet the programs requirements. I can't wait until these 6 weeks are up. I am constantly checking my email. It is driving me crazy!

I never received a confirmation email from Valencia about my concurrent application submission, like I received from UCF. This kinda worries me.

Hello everyone. Has anyone heard back or know when we will hear back for the concurrent program?

I applied to Valencia's and Seminole's Concurrent program in the beginning of April. Got accepted to Seminole and accepted my seat but still curious if I got into Valencia's program. I haven't heard anything from them but the deadline was the 30th of April and they say 6-8 weeks before they notify anyone. Good luck though!!

Congrats AG1121!!! I hope we hear back soon, I just want to know already. I remember reading the UCF website and they stated that the decisions for this program will be given out 4-6weeks after tha application deadline.

Thank you! Today makes 5 weeks from the deadline so hopefully you are right and you do hear something soon. The waiting is agony :banghead: and can drive you close to crazy. I was checking emails hourly it seemed and stalking these forums like I had nothing else to do. Seminole notified us exactly 4 weeks from their deadline which helped put me out of my misery lol. Hang in there!

Congrats for getting into Seminole State, AG1121! Did you hear back from both schools around the same time? Does anyone know if it is it possible to get into one and not the other?

Thanks rwood0905! Yes, I heard back from Seminole and UCF on the same day. I got Seminole's acceptance earlier in the day and UCF's around 5pm. I haven't heard of anyone getting into one and not the other but at the information session at Seminole they made it sound like it was a possibility. They said if you get accepted to one and not the other it is the same as not getting accepted at all. You must be accepted to both colleges to participate in the concurrent program.
