Does anyone know where I can find out info on how to calculate the thoracic AP/Lateral ratio? I really dont understand that, and have a person with kyphosis, so I know the chest is "barrel chest", but don't know what the ratio would be for that. Have been trying to find the answer on the web, to no avail. ..........Any one?

Not too sure. I did my husband who is fit. Pretty much everything was normal so I put 1:2. I found this on the internet, though:
A to P diameter: Barrel Chest
1:1 ratio, ribs are more horizontal
Compromised respiration ie: chronic asthma or emphysema

After this class, I'm going to have to assess my rear-end for pressure ulcers from sitting on the couch doing assignments! Ha, ha!
You got that right!, geeze Louise! When I got up to get supper started, I felt like I was 90 years old, my butt hurt, my hips hurt, and I was walking like a robot. School is definately hard on the posterior

Finally got that assessment submitted. I am so glad I hung onto all my textbooks that I have collected over the years.
I did have to research irregular rhythm upon my assessment to my surprise...kinda scared me a little bit since it was my kin folk.
Ended up with 8 pages. Less pages from last week...but harder material to assess!
I have shoulder, back and neck pains now!
BTW: You guys gave me some good laughs with the rear end pressure ulcers and posterior pains comments!
